Hello! My name is Aidan Powley and I am a senior at Elon University. I am a journalism major, minoring in political science, but my true passion is for sports. 

Ever since a young age, New England sports have meant everything to me, from watching Tom Brady and the Patriots incredible dynasty to seeing the Boston Celtics grow as a team and win the championship just last season. 

Through my passion for journalism, I have been able to connect it back to my love for the game, working for a website called Last Word on Sports as a New England Patriots contributor. My time with Last Word on Sports has been amazing; being able to talk about the Patriots and the game of football is truly a love of mine. 

During my time at Elon,  I have had the pleasure of writing feature stories for Rising Phoenix, a student-led initiative covering Elon Athletics. I have gotten the chance to publish articles on baseball, softball, and soccer, and am looking forward to more opportunities as the year continues. 

I have also been writing for Elon News Network, covering local and university news through the Pendulum, Elon's weekly newspaper. I have contributed on a number of different topics, from a new restaurant opening up, volunteer opportunities on campus, and even a supreme court justice being introduced as a professor at Elon Law.
